Incheon National University Institute for Science-Gifted Education (Director: Han Ki-soon, professor of creative talent development) announced on the 18th that it was selected as the winner of the "2024 Commendation of Distinguished Service to Strengthen the Competency of Gifted Schools, Gifted Schools, and Science High Schools" and was honored with a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education.
Professor Han Ki-soon, as the head of the Gyeonggi and Incheon area of the Gifted Development Project, has greatly contributed to providing opportunities for students to maximize their potential and talents regardless of social and economic constraints through the discovery of marginalized Gifted Children and customized support.
The Gifted Development Project is helping to create a creative educational environment for underprivileged students and to cultivate self-directed learning skills and creative problem-solving skills through various educational programs. The award was made in recognition of the achievements of these efforts, and is considered to have left an important footprint in nurturing future talent.
Professor Han vowed to make continuous efforts, saying, "Through this award, we will create an educational environment where the development of gifted education and opportunities for all students to realize their potential." The project to nurture gifted students is expected to develop further in the future to cultivate creative talents and strengthen fairness in education.
The 2024 Gifted Kiwoom Project is a customized gifted growth support program that participates from the fourth grade of elementary school to the third grade of high school, hosted by the Ministry of Education, Incheon National University in the Incheon and Gyeonggi areas, Seoul, Gangwon and Jeju areas are operated by Seoul National University, Busan National University in the Gyeongsang area, and Daejeon National University in the Chungcheong and Jeolla areas, and KAIST is jointly in charge of the project.
