Incheon National University's Department of Japanese Regional Culture will participate for the second consecutive year in the "Korea-Japan Festival 2025 in Seoul," held at COEX Hall B in Samseong-dong on Sunday, October 12th. This event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Korea and Japan and is the largest private cultural exchange festival for the citizens of both nations to enjoy together.

The Department of Japanese Regional Culture is the only university department in the country to operate a standalone booth. Students from the department have formed 10 small groups and will present self-produced characters, animations, webzines, and board games. Visitors can enjoy a variety of experiences, such as conversing with a virtual idol developed by the students or participating in quiz competitions. The students will also distribute character keychains, photo cards, ukiyo-e postcards, and pamphlets they designed to interact closely with visitors.

During its first participation last year, the department's booth garnered significant media attention and received a positive response for its fresh ideas and student-led participation. This year, the Department of Japanese Regional Culture's booth is expected to establish itself not just as a simple exhibition, but as a venue for cultural exchange led by the younger generation.
