The purpose is to establish a Dept. of Marine Science as a regional-based university specialization strategy and to foster talented individuals in the marine field who possess the competence, creativity, and enterprising character required by the future society of the 21st century by cultivating innovative knowledge and practical capabilities in the field of marine science through the operation of an open convergence system with domestic and international marine and environment-related institutions.
