Dismissal from the University

Students admitted as freshmen or transfer students in 2023 or later who voluntarily withdraw or are dismissed during their first semester after admission, as well as students dismissed for disciplinary reasons, are not eligible for readmission.
First Semester: March 1 to August 31 / Second Semester: September 1 to the last day of February of the following year

Voluntary Withdrawal

Application Procedure

Required Documents

One completed Application for Voluntary Withdrawal and an identification document

Application Method

Complete the Application for Voluntary Withdrawal, obtain the official seals of the academic advisor, department chair, scholarship officer, and library officer, and submit it in person to the Academic Affairs Team.

Application Hours

During the semester: Weekdays, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
During vacation periods: Weekdays, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
※ Applications cannot be submitted by mail or through the university portal.

When obtaining the seals of the academic advisor and department chair, contact the department office and make an appointment by phone or in person before visiting.

Dismissal for Failure to Return from Leave

Relevant Regulation : Article 51, Paragraph 1 of the Incheon National University Regulations
A student will be dismissed if the approved leave period expires and the student fails to return to the university.

Dismissal for Failure to Register

Relevant Regulations : Article 42 and Article 51, Paragraph 2 of the Incheon National University Regulations
A student who fails to complete registration within the designated period each semester will be dismissed.
Even if tuition has been paid, a student who fails to complete course registration will be dismissed in accordance with Article 42 of the University Regulations.

Academic Dismissal

Relevant Regulation : Article 51, Paragraph 6 of the Incheon National University Regulations
A student who receives three academic warnings during the period of enrollment will be dismissed. (※ Academic warning criterion: A semester GPA below 1.80)

One-Time Academic Warning Exemption Program

Relevant Regulations : Article 60 of the Detailed Enforcement Regulations of the Incheon National University Regulations
A student subject to an academic warning who completes an on-campus program designed to improve academic achievement may receive a one-time exemption from the academic warning. (Effective from the first semester of the 2018 academic year)

Dismissal for Exceeding the Maximum Period of Enrollment

Relevant Regulations : Article 23 and Article 51, Paragraph 7 of the Incheon National University Regulations
Students subject to dismissal: Students who exceed the maximum permitted period of enrollment

Maximum Period of Enrollment : Twice the standard period of study. For readmitted and transfer students, it is twice the remaining standard period of study.
