Dormitory's Hangawi Program for International Students
- Incheon City Tour for international students, providing an opportunity to experience a Korean holiday and understand local culture.
Incheon National University's (President Lee In-jae) Dormitory (Director Park Young-eun), in cooperation with the Incheon City MICE Tourism Division and the Incheon Tourism Organization, has prepared the ‘My Second Hometown Met Abroad, Incheon Hangawi’ program for international students who are unable to return to their home countries for Chuseok, Korea's major traditional holiday.
This event will run for about a month, from October 3rd to 31st, and will be open to the first 100 international students to sign up. The main programs are ▲the Incheon City Tour Bus and Hanbok Experience and ▲the “A Letter Full of Love” campaign for sending letters to family members back home.
The ‘Incheon City Tour Experience’ is designed for international students to wear Hanbok while exploring Incheon's major tourist attractions, helping to deepen their understanding of and sense of belonging to the region. Participating students can create a video of their tour experience and submit it to a contest, with outstanding works to be posted on the dormitory's official SNS channels.
Additionally, through the “A Letter Full of Love” campaign, international students can send postcards filled with the warm spirit of Chuseok to their families in their home countries. The dormitory will fully cover the international postage costs, and some of the letters will be produced and shared as videos with the students' consent.
Dormitory Director Park Young-eun stated, “We hope that international students can alleviate the loneliness they feel in an unfamiliar environment, experience Korea's traditional holiday culture, and remember Incheon as their second hometown.” Through this event, the Incheon National University Dormitory plans to strengthen its role as a warm, sharing community that goes beyond being just a living space, creating an opportunity to enhance ties with the local community and raise awareness of internationalization.
