Introduction
Thank you for visiting the Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration.
The Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration at Incheon National University received approval for its establishment in December 2009. To foster urban administration experts specialized in Incheon Metropolitan City, the Department cultivates the acquisition of knowledge in general administrative management theories and practical urban management capabilities.
Urban administration can be described as a 'practical and comprehensive social science' that presents theoretical research for an accurate understanding of various social phenomena and public services in cities that are at the center of national development and are changing on a large scale and in a multifunctional manner, as well as diverse problems arising from urbanization such as regional growth and development, regional economy, housing, transportation, and the environment, along with administrative techniques for urban management and developmental policy alternatives.
Accordingly, the Dept. of Urban Policy and Administration sets its educational direction on cultivating practical knowledge and competencies to foster experts equipped with comprehensive thinking skills and creative abilities, serving as urban administrators who manage and operate cities.
In addition, by enabling students to learn both theory and practice through practical experience in the field, we foster urban experts with excellent urban problem-solving abilities.
Through a professional curriculum necessary for managing cities and solving various policy issues, we cultivate and produce talents who advance to graduate school, national and local government positions, as well as public and private enterprises, and furthermore contribute to the qualitative development of urban administration that can improve the quality of life for cities and local residents.
